Property description

A Grade II listed converted Moravian church, with bell tower and organ, restored to exacting standards, with an enclosed rear garden and walking distance from local amenities.

Considerable work has already been undertaken to this listed building which was built in 1906. The roof of both the church and bell tower have been stripped, insulated and retiled using the original tiles. Separate boilers have been installed for heating and hot water in a newly fitted utility room. The kitchen and bathroom have not yet been fitted allowing purchasers to finish them to their own taste. The vendor is willing, if required, to provide a bespoke, project managed service to complete the design and installation to meet individuals’ specific needs. Terms to be agreed separately The property has over 2,600 sq. ft. of accommodation including an entrance hall on the ground floor of the bell tower, an inner hall, and an open plan room which measures over 49 ft. by 27 ft. and has been left as one space with the vaulted hammer beam roof visible following restoration. Stairs from the inner hall lead to a mezzanine first floor.

Ground Floor

The open plan main room has the restored church organ, on its raised plinth, at one end. Bi-fold doors lead to the room intended as the kitchen/breakfast room. There is a cloakroom, a utility room and two further rooms which could be used as additional reception rooms or bedrooms. These rooms and the utility room all have doors to the rear garden which has a seating area with sleeper retaining walls and steps up to a lawned area.

First Floor

The first floor is currently one space with an open glass balustrade overlooking the main hall. There is scope for various layouts, creating either one master suite or additional bedrooms with partitioning. Steps lead up to the bell tower which has space and plumbing to install a bathroom.

Schooling and Situation

There is a wide choice of good schools available including Beachborough School, Bloxham School, Winchester House School, and Stowe School. Woodford Halse has a primary school, post office, pharmacy, shops and a pocket park. The property is 12 miles from Banbury station with services to Marylebone and only 17.5 miles from Northampton station for services to Euston.
